Precise Overlay Scrollbars Available for Oneiric Users via PPA

The development on Precise Pangolin has already begun. The first thing we've received are some improvements on the Overlay Scrollbars. The scrollbar thumb now has a smart timeout before revealing itself, thus reducing the visual clutter that was produced by the scrollbars revealing too often when the mouse hovered them.

The proximity area has been extended, making the scrollbar even more easily accessible. Now, you don't need to find the thin orange line anymore to reveal the scrollbar. For maximized apps, they now follow Fitts Law, meaning that you can just go to the edge of the screen where you feel the scrollbar should be and start scrolling.

Ayatana Overlay Scrollbars - First Ubuntu 12.04 improvements by Andrea Cimitan, Ubuntu developer.

These scrollbars are available for Oneiric users via a Launchpad PPA. Go to a Terminal and run:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ayatana-scrollbar-team/release
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

PPA: https://launchpad.net/~ayatana-scrollbar-team/+archive/release

You would need to relogin once the installation is completed.
