Updated Minitube 1.5 for Youtube Works Seamless Now

A new version of Minitube is now available which fixes the recent Youtube playback issue. It was being caused by a recent streaming change in Youtube though and wasn't related to Minitube.

The most amazing feature of Minitube is that it doesn't require Flash Player for playing Youtube videos. It doesn't clone the original Youtube web interface and instead aims to create a TV like experience. It also lets you switch between different resolutions for a video if available.

With this new version of Minitube, you can now drag and drop Youtube links from your browser to Minitube window for instant playback.

Packages for Ubuntu Lucid, Maverick and Natty are available via PPA. For installation go to a Terminal and run:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ferramroberto/minitube
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install minitube

You can find Minitube under Applications > Sound & Video menu in classic Gnome or by searching the Dash in Unity.

Minitube is also available for Mac and Windows.
