Test Drive Applications in Software Center before Installation, Ubuntu Natty

A nice feature was introduced in Ubuntu Natty's Software Center that lets you test most of the software available via Software Center before installation. Unfortunately, it requires installation of 'qtnx' which isn't installed by default and thus, doesn't let the users test drive those applications except those who know about 'qtnx' and have installed it themselves.

So, first we need to install 'qtnx'. Go to a Terminal and run:

sudo apt-get install qtnx

Now start Software Center. A 'Test Drive' button should be displayed for the supported software as shown in the screenshot below.


The applications would be running on a remote server meaning that a lot depends on the speed of your internet connection.
