Classic Menu AppIndicator for Unity

If you don't like the new Unity Dash for searching and starting your programs, you can have a classic menu AppIndicator but note that it would be shown in the AppIndicator area on the top panel and you can't move it to another place on the panel that easily. However, there is a workaround for that:

For installation, run these commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:diesch/testing
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install classicmenu-indicator

Now press Alt + F2 and enter:


To make it start automatically at login, press the <Super> key and search for 'Startup Applications' in the Dash.

Click 'Add'. Type whatever in the name field and the command would be, 'classicmenu-indicator' (without quotes) as shown in the screenshot below.
