Reset 'Startup Applications' to Defaults in Ubuntu

Startup Applications are the set of applications/services that auto-start when you boot Ubuntu. User defined settings are stored under ~/.config/autostart (.config is a hidden directory, press Ctrl + H to find it under your /home).

If you made any changes to your Startup Applications, either removed or added some and now you want to revert to the original one's, all you need to do is to remove the autostart directory and reboot Ubuntu.

rm -rf ~/.config/autostart

If you want to add some custom applications to startup, you can add them in 'Startup Applications' under System > Preferences sub-menu.
